Play logic puzzles at your level
Pick a level, solve 10 puzzles and see the answer and the rule after each one. Start easy for quick wins, or go straight to Hard for a real challenge.
How a round works
A round is 10 puzzles. Pick an answer and you see straight away whether it was right, together with the rule behind the puzzle, so every round teaches you something. There is no countdown: a small clock shows your thinking time, which only runs while a puzzle is waiting for your answer. At the end you get a score out of 10, your time and up to three stars.
The difficulty climbs a little during the round. An Easy round starts at level 1 and finishes at level 2; a Mixed round goes from level 1 all the way to level 6.
The four levels
- Easy uses levels 1 and 2. One clear rule per puzzle. Good for a first round and for warming up.
- Medium uses levels 3 and 4. Two rules at once, or a rule that takes a second look.
- Hard uses levels 5 and 6. Several rules interact, and the wrong answers are built to look right. For strong solvers.
- Mixed runs from level 1 to level 6 in one round, getting harder as you go. It is the closest to how the IQ test feels.
Stars come from your score: 9 or 10 correct earns three stars, 7 or 8 earns two and 5 or 6 earns one. After each round you get a suggestion for what to try next, such as moving up to Medium after a strong Easy round.
Three kinds of puzzle
Choose one kind or play all three mixed together. Matrices are 3×3 grids with the last cell missing. Number series ask for the next number in a row. Rotation puzzles ask which shape is the target turned, not mirrored. Each kind has its own page below with tips and a guide.
Play mode or the IQ test?
Play mode is for practice and fun: you choose the difficulty, you see every answer straight away and you can play as many rounds as you like. The IQ test is different on purpose. It always uses the same fixed mix of easy and hard puzzles, it is timed, and it shows the answers only at the end. That fixed design is what lets it compare your result with other people, so only the IQ test gives an estimated IQ range. A Play round never does.
Puzzles you have played here are not shown again in the IQ test, so practising does not hand you answers you have already seen.
Your progress stays with you
Your best score, time and stars for each level and puzzle type are saved in your own browser and shown on the level picker above. Nothing about your rounds is stored on our side: we only count, anonymously, how many rounds are started and finished at each level, to know which levels people enjoy.
Three kinds of puzzle
- Matrices Each grid follows a pattern along its rows. Look at how the shapes change from left to right, then pick the figure that completes the last row. Play matrices →
- Number series Each row of numbers follows a rule. Work out the rule and pick the number that comes next. Play number series →
- Rotation Find the option that is the same shape as the target, only turned. Mirror images and changed shapes do not count. Play rotation →
Frequently asked questions
Is Play mode free?
Yes. Every round is free, with no account, no email and no payment. The site is paid for by ads.
Does a Play round give me an IQ score?
No. Play rounds are for fun and practice and show a score out of 10. Only the IQ test, with its fixed mix of difficulties, gives an estimated IQ range.
Will I see the same puzzles again?
Not for a long while. Each round picks puzzles you have not seen in this browser first, from more than 2,000 original puzzles.
Where are my stars saved?
Only in your browser. Your best score per level and puzzle type stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data resets it.
